IvyMax Speak

~"Continuous learning is essential (no matter at what age).” - Dr. William F. (Bill) Miller, Stanford University Provost Emeritus and IvyMax Senior Advisor

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the hundreds of wonderful students and parents who have taken the time to write us testimonials and “love letters.” A very few of these testimonials and letter excerpts are shown below. Please enjoy.

I am writing to thank you for your guidance throughout this entire college preparation and application process. Getting acceptances from Princeton, Dartmouth, and Duke along with Northwestern, Berkeley, UCLA, and UCSD have really proven to me that hard work pays off! Without IvyMax, I don’t know if any of this would have been possible. I appreciate your vision, passion, and valuable time that is showered on your students!
- Carolyn, attending Princeton University

I want to express my gratitude for the guidance IvyMax has given me during my entire high school career and especially during college application season. The tips, words of wisdom, and advice I was given by you were all helpful towards achieving and exceeding my goals of getting in the college I wished to envision myself in. I’m extremely excited for my entry into Stanford University, and I am anticipating a fantastic undergraduate experience! Once again, thank you for your help and your encouragement for making my dream school a reality! I’ll try to keep in touch and maybe visit in the future! With thousands of thanks, Chris
- Chris, attending Stanford University

I was very excited about visiting Cambridge in April – there is no doubt that MIT will offer me the best possible education in the STEM fields. I am still very busy these days, as my team was recently named the Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Awards Regional Winner. I was one of 16 students accepted from mainland China (as an international applicant). In addition, they offered me $xx,xxx a year in scholarships/financial aid, something my parents were very relieved to see. Overall, I think MIT would be the perfect place for me to continue my interest in math and science innovation. Thanks again for all of your help this year. I will keep you updated on my endeavors at MIT!
- Youyang, attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

I heard back from all my remaining colleges yesterday and got accepted to UPenn College of Arts and Sciences! I’ve been estatic these past few days, and I just wanted to thank you for all your help these past few years. Without your wise advice about SATs and your reviews of my applications, not to mention all the questions you’ve answered for me and numerous other details you’ve advised me on, I could not have done so much and gone this far. Thank you Mr. Ma for helping me on my way! I am 100% sure I’m going to be attending Penn next year, and I can’t wait to be a part of their undergrad IR program. Thanks again, my family and I are very grateful!
- Erica, attending the University of Pennsylvania (went to a State of Washington high school)

IvyMax has been a tremendous help through my high school (career). From SATs to college admissions to internships, they have helped me achieve successes that I didn’t even think were possible. Without them, I would not be where I am today. Thanks IvyMax!
- Tony, attending Harvard University (one of the IvyMax alumni who achieved a perfect 2400 on the SAT I)

As for Stanford, I couldn’t have done it without your guidance. : )
- Sarah, attending Stanford University

IvyMax has been an integral partner throughout since high school. Not only were they an essential resource in taking on the SAT tests and the college admissions process, but even now continue to support me in my post-high school and professional endeavors. They have my full recommendation.
- Ted, attending Harvard University (one of many IvyMax students who scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT I)

Penn is amazing in every way, and I’m so happy that I am here. Thank you and the rest of the IvyMax team for helping me get into Wharton! If there are any IvyMax students touring Penn, let me know! I’d be happy to advocate for IvyMax and Penn. IvyMax truly does make dreams come true!
- Jackie, attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Management and Technology Program at The Wharton School and Penn Engineering

I would like to tell you that I have chosen to attend UC Berkeley and I will be in the school’s IEOR Department. It was a really tough year for college admissions, and the IvyMax Counseling Program did greatly help my applications.
- Sherman, attending UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering

I want to thank you with my innermost sincerity for all that you have done regarding my academic planning and college applications. Working with you and other IvyMax staff has been more than inspiring and rewarding. The scene of my first meeting you and weeping in front of you at the Millbrae center is deeply imprinted in my heart. It is by no means an exaggeration to attribute the stimulus of my turning point in life to you and to IvyMax. When I deviated from the light of learning and lost my direction with a confounded mind, it was you who motivated me to embrace my former assiduity; it was you who showed me the path to success; and it was you who encouraged me to indefatigably run toward my future. I also highly appreciate the cohesiveness and professionalism of the IvyMax system. The innumerable times of commenting on and re-proofreading essays, the scrupulous examinations of applications, the critical updates and follow-ups, the eye-opening ideas and suggestions, the more than strong sense of responsibility, the admirable mission beyond that about responsibility… My experience at IvyMax has been a life-changing one, with or without the final results.
- Ivy, attending Bowdoin College (instead of her previous choice, UC Berkeley)

I was accepted to all of the UC’s that I applied to, with Regents scholarships at UCLA, San Diego, Irvine and Davis. I was also accepted by USC and Northwestern with Dean’s scholarship. I visited Northwestern campus and attended their orientation, but after much thought I decided to submit my SIR to UC Berkeley, where I will be majoring in Bioengineering. Thank you for all of your help and guidance with my college application process, tuning my writing and editing my essays to make them presentable in my voice. I owe a great deal of the admission outcome to the focused help I received from IvyMax.
- Aritro, attending UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering

He finally got off his waitlist and admitted to UPenn. He could not be happier. UPenn is his dream school after all. He thanks all of IvyMax staff and especially Mr. Wei, in guiding him on how to write the UPenn page 217 essay.
- James, a parent of a student attending the University of Pennsylvania

I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for your help and guidance to Samuel on his college application essays. He got into Duke. :) It wouldn’t have happened without your help. Luckily his younger brother, a student of yours, is in good hands now. Thank you again.
- Vicky, mom of Samuel admitted Early Decision to Duke University

I just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and to tell you that I am really enjoying college at WashU. I have just completed my first semester and I am continuing to pursue pre-med, but will be changing my major to Health Management from BioE. I was lucky to realize that BioE was not for me fairly earlier in my academic career so that switching will not be a difficulty.
– Megan, attending Washington University in St. Louis

Thank you for helping me with the application process! With your professional guidance, including the targeted changes I had made, I was successful in getting admitted (to Cornell)! Thanks again for your help!
In Chinese: 谢谢你们在申请过程中对我的帮助!由于你们专业的辅导和有针对性的修改,我最后的录取结果非常成功!再次谢谢你们的帮助!
- Chen, an international student attending Cornell University

Thank you so much for your help and guidance through the college application process, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have applied to Dartmouth. I am really appreciative. I’m also really excited to attend Dartmouth next fall!
- Fiona, attending Dartmouth College

Your student Wendy was accepted by UC Berkeley and NYU. Per the letter from the Berkeley office undergraduate admissions on 03/25/10, “The admissions staff reviewed more than 50,000 applicants of extraordinary quality before selecting you for this offer.” Wendy cannot get in Berkeley without your important and high quality guidance. Your great help would be always appreciated by our family! Yes, Definitely I will refer IvyMax to all my friends. So far two of them are contacting with Crystal now. Take Care and thank you again for your great work! Thank you so much!
- A parent of Wendy, attending UC Berkeley

I got rejected from Brown and waitlisted for Wellesley, but is all good! Because after talking with many alumni and current students, I am excited to go to UCLA! Thank you and your editor for all your help and support! You’ve stuck with me through these “dark” times and I’m so glad for all your help.
– Angela, attending UCLA

Thanks for all the patience you have exhibited towards me; without your help I doubt I would have gotten this far.  I’m grateful for all the time you’ve spent advising me, editing my essays, and those pep talks about the world in and after college.  I’ve gotten into Berkeley, an amazing school, and I hope you have as much luck helping next year’s students into their dream schools.
– Celina, attending UC Berkeley

Just letting you know I got into UCLA, and I am totally surprised. Thanks for all your help. I definitely will recommend the next year students to you.
- Cheng, attending UCLA

I got into UC Berkeley, and I’m seriously considering enrolling there for the fall. It’s hard to believe that I was applying to college less than a year ago; it was such a dark, dark moment of my life. I guess time just flies by Senior year! Thank you for all your help and constant dedication to all your students. If it weren’t for your help, my acceptance probably wouldn’t have been possible. Once again, thank you for your support. It feels great knowing that all my hard work and all your hard work has paid off.  :)
- Anne Marie, attending UC Berkeley

With the excellent help from IvyMax and yourself, Joanna has been offered admission to USC & CMU for their architecture program. We are happy about the outcome especially after she learned that this is the hardest year to get into top universities.
– The parents of Joanna, attending the University of Southern California

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you and other IvyMax staff and teachers for your time and patience with Joshua.  I have gotten really positive feedback from Joshua for his experiences with IvyMax for this process. Please help us to extend our thanks and appreciation to the rest of the team.
- A parent of Joshua, attending UC San Diego

We’ve been out of touch for a little while but I really wanted to let you know what colleges I got into and how I’m doing. I received the last college letter today. First off I want to thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and how much time you’ve invested in me and my future. I got into my first choice! NYU. Once again Mr. Ma, thank you very much for your time and advice. I don’t believe I could have gotten into NYU without your and IvyMax’s help. Hopefully we’ll stay in touch. Write back soon!
- Renee, attending NYU

He is very excited to start his new chapter moving forward. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all. Kevin has applied to several universities. The following are the final admissions (including UCLA and USC’s Computer Engineering programs)… After a long discussion between us, Kevin has decided to go for UCSD. As parents, we really want to thank you and IvyMax for your help and the advices. We are sure that Kevin will do well in UCSD and the future.
- The parents of Kevin, attending UC San Diego

Thank you for guiding me throughout the college application process and helping me perfect my personal statements. I was able to get into many wonderful colleges with all your help and I have decided to attend UC Davis next fall. I will be sure to use the skills that you have all taught me in the future. I hope you can continue helping students, like me, to strive for their goals. Thanks again and best wishes to you all!
- Clarissa, attending UC Davis
